Our fireplace resurfacing process began with an on-site consultation where we discussed the client’s goals, aesthetic vision, and how the fireplace interacts with the surrounding living area. Three hand-crafted sample boards were created:

• A rustic, antique look with aged depth
• A bold, heavy metallic finish
• A nuanced blend of dual metallic tones with artistic texture

The third sample—a mix of warm metallic tones and layered texture—won the client’s heart for its perfect balance of sheen and character.

Before applying the finish, we closed two inset niches on the fireplace’s structure to create a clean, monolithic surface. This architectural decision contributed to a more cohesive and modern canvas for the plasterwork.

We resurfaced the tiled fireplace by layering two custom metallic Venetian plaster colors—warm bronze and graphite. Using a hand-troweled technique, we created subtle movement and a play of shadow and light across the surface. The result: a one-of-a-kind, dual-toned fireplace centerpiece that elevates the entire room.
