When applied correctly over a properly prepared and stable substrate, Lime Plaster is very durable. Because it is a natural material, it may develop subtle hairline fissures over time (known as “checking” or “patina”)—this is inherent to the material and is often considered a desirable part of its authentic aesthetic (Wabi-Sabi principle).
